We have always had a passion for classic mid 20th century interior design and furniture, which we have been able to express in the accommodation at Sound of Harris.
The interior features classic pieces from a range of British brands and designers – R.W. Toothill, Elliots of Newbury and Robin Day – which we have sympathetically restored and re-upolstered – in addition to favourites such as Ercol, G-plan (E. Gomme) and Uniflex.
The Harris Tweed industry is currently undergoing a welcome renaissance, with the demand for the distinctive, durable and sustainable cloth continuing to increase year on year – a natural partner for the furniture design of this period.
We are extremely privileged to be able to feature a range of bespoke Tweeds woven by Donald John MacKay of Luskentyre. These include a range of colourways in a distinctive hopsack weave.
